Kayla, Dr. Peters’ Business Manager, has been involved with Dr. Peters’ practice since the opening in August 2001. Though Kayla maintains an administrative role, she has served in many other roles in the practice. Kayla works side-by-side with Dr. Peters in maintaining a successful plastic surgery practice, where you can experience a warm and inviting atmosphere. Kayla’s Southern hospitality makes the patients feel comfortable to ask questions and express their concerns. Continuing education is the cornerstone of any cosmetic surgery practice. Kayla has been a member of Association of Plastic Surgery Assistants since 2001. She was the scholarship recipient in 2003 for Association of Plastic Surgery Assistants’s annual conference. Kayla is currently a member of the Bayou Chapter Medical Managers in the Houma-Thibodaux area. Kayla served as a Committee Chairman for Association of Plastic Surgery Assistants from 2004 - 2006 and as the Co-Program Director for the Bayou Chapter of Medical Managers in 2006 - 2007. Kayla is excited and prepared to share with you her personal experience and insight regarding cosmetic surgery. A native of Houma, Chantel attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and later earned her graduate degree from LSU. Her background in Family practice and internal medicine is a bonus for Dr. Peters’ cosmetic and reconstructive patients. “This is a very different atmosphere. Lots of things attracted me to aesthetic surgery. For patients who have had extreme weight loss or breast cancer, the cosmetic surgery that is performed to these patients is really life changing. And to be a part of that is very gratifying as a provider.” Aside from assisting Dr. Peters, Chantel will also be doing post operative care, facial injectables, and laser therapy. Chantel sees her role as facilitating a patient’s total recovery. “Making people feel cared for with a lot of guidance and emotional support is important. To see someone’s self image, self esteem and confidence improve is a wonderful feeling.” Chantel takes her lead from Dr. Peters so as to be an extension of him. “He is always very respectful and really listens. Patients leave knowing it is all about them”.

Yvette, Dr. Peters’ Clinical Nurse is a Licensed Practical Nurse with has over sixteen years of medical experience, seven of which have been with Dr. Peters’ plastic surgery practice. As Dr. Peters’ clinical plastic surgery nurse, Yvette provides pre-operative and post-operative care to Dr. Peters’ patients. Yvette’s extensive training and plastic surgery experience plus her warm personality are key qualities in her success as our Clinical Cosmetic Nurse. Yvette will make your plastic surgery journey smooth and allow us to celebrate the new you. Yvette is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery Nurses and Association of Plastic Surgery Assistants.

Having owned a successful gift shop at one time, Shellie brings a world of business knowledge along with an emphasis on customer service. Shellie is accustomed to managing people and working with others to get objectives accomplished. Her warm approach and attention to detail are key components in making her a successful patient care coordinator.
Shellie describes Dr. Peters as personable and down to earth. “All around what you see is what you get. I have been a patient and I can truly say patients and employees are all treated great.” Shellie has interest in the specialty beyond her own experience. “It’s an exciting and different field and I think the people here are wonderful and patient contact will be rewarding.” |

Tellie should be called “transition consultant” because that is precisely what she does. The temporary bruising, swelling and minor scarring following facial surgery can be minimized and camouflaged in Tellie’s capable hands. “I am looking forward to being part of every patient’s healing process. You can’t just pop back into public after surgery. Our practice has designated a special secluded area where I can give one on one care including instructions on how to apply their cosmetics when they get home.” Tellie spent over 12 years working for Clinique and attended yearly training sessions dedicated to trends and techniques. Aside from working with post operative patients, she will also manage the skincare products and cosmetics for Dr. Peters’ practice. “Even if a patient has long since recovered from their surgery, I can help them choose the correct combination of products to highlight their best features and bring out their natural beauty. I like to think of myself as an extension of Dr. Peters. He makes people look and feel better about their appearance. Making someone feel confident and special is the part of my job that never gets routine.” |

Melissa
Melissa was interviewed and hired on the same day. “Tellie introduced me to the practice.” She calls Dr. Peters “a genuine godsend.” “As soon as I met him, I loved his spirit. He’s created a great culture here.” As the full time Front Desk Coordinator, she takes her “concierge” duties to heart. “I am the first person patients talk to or see. It’s important that they all feel immediately comfortable.” Melissa does a quick orientation with each new patient and makes sure they are not waiting too long before directing them to a consultation room. After 9 years at Dillard’s as a beauty consultant, Melissa feels right at home and is enjoying the new atmosphere. “I really like the pace…there is always something to do. We are always busy.” |
